Software Development Executive
I'm a manager of managers who takes an active role in the projects and technologies used by teams to create new products quickly. It is most rewarding for me to be in a position of making substantial impacts on the success of a company. This tends to lead me towards working at midsized and smaller companies.
I am a lifelong learner. I have reinforced my learning by making career changes that require new skills and perspectives. This includes taking roles in R&D, sales, IT management, early startups and challenging leadership positions at troubled companies and organizations. The learnings from these deliberate moves have benefitted all the companies I have been associated with since.
I am a change agent and I lead through teaching. I have designed and taught classes all over the world in software development methods, product development processes and management/leadership in every organization I have been a part of. I use teaching to establish a common baseline in each of the organizations I have led.
